I would rather wake up in the middle of nowhere than in any city on earth.

Mr Steve McQueen

Movie Icon Steve McQueen’s House

Designed by renowned architect Mr. Hugh Kaptur in 1964 the 4 bedroom ‘Steve McQueen house’ is located in the gated community of Southridge, a stone’s throw from Palm Springs. The property still contains mostly original details giving a nostalgic glimpse back into the world of the movie icon Steve McQueen. Its a beautiful but understated house benefiting from breath-taking panoramic views of the San Jacinto Mountain range (through walls of glass), terrazzo flooring and bespoke Edward Fields rugs, a floating stairway to the master suite on the second level, as well as luxurious grounds and, of course, the King of Cool‘s swimming pool.

Mr McQueen originally purchased the desert bolthole with his first wife Neile Adams, but reportedly spent much of his time at the property with Ali MacGraw his co-star from The Getaway (who he married in 1973).
