Responsible Gear : Patagonia Re\\\Collection
Patagonia has been commendably diverting resources away from the landfill since the early 90’s, when they made their first fleece from recycled plastic bottles. Since then, the brand has increasingly used more and more recycled materials in their clothing without sacrificing technicality or style.
We have to take responsibility for what we make, from birth to death and then beyond dead, back to rebirth.
The Patagonia Re\\\Collection
The Patagonia clothing brand has for many years been committed to sustainability and producing responsible gear fit for the outdoors. We look back at one of their best sustainable collections – the recollection – down jacket, down vests, pants and wool shirt styles made with all sorts of recycled materials, including 100% recycled down, 100% recycled wool and 100% recycled polyester with 85% recycled polyester labels, 80% recycled zippers and 50% recycled buttons.
Patagonia is distinctive because of all the environmental work that it does, and when we think about products, we think about all the environmental work before we start designing . . . From the insulation to the outer materials—all the way down to the buttons and drawcords—this collection is an experiment in creativity and responsibility.
