I was originally only going to Indo because I got invited on a trip to Kandui to ride some sick Christenson boards. Then I was just planning to just stay a few weeks afterward in Bali by myself…. but the waves are so fun so I decided to book somewhere cheap for an extended period because I love Indo and I know a few people there and it just rolled into this really long fun surf trip.
Wear No Flag & Indo
It was shot around Bali plus trips to G-Land, Deserts, and South Sumatra. Parker Coffin and Noah Hill were going to South Sumatra and they asked if I was keen, I’ve been there a fair bit so said fuck yeh straight away. That was the best trip and I think the last section of the edit was from that trip because we got pretty lucky with waves. They were super chilled to hang with and it became a really memorable trip, not only for the waves but because they were super fun to be around.
The 120 Day Surf Trip
Overall, I went away in early March and I know it was 120 days because I came back on the last day of the second 60-day visa. I then went home and Zac Heath filmed some talking around home and cut it in. He actually did an amazing job with the edit because there just was so much footage to try and make sense of.
RVCA & Thrusters
I was always planning on doing a clip for RVCA this year so it all sort of fell into place. Normally I ride a lot of different shapes and stuff but thought I’d only use clips riding thrusters for a change cause the last few clips have a lot of twins, fishes, quads etc. I only included lefts too because after I went through all the footage …. lefts were about 90% of the surfs so didn’t want to just chuck a few rights in for the sake of it.
